Q. |
Why Dive Komodo
with DiveKomodo? |
A. |
Weather you are on the liveaboard
or with our day boat, we are the most experienced
operator, with the best dive guides in Komodo.
We are dedicated to Komodo and the protection
of it's marine environment. We have a perfect
safety record. This make all the difference when
diving in the potentially dangerous dives sites
of Komodo. Ask who your dive guide will be, and
how many dives they have done in Komodo! Also
our Day boat is the best being used by the local
operators, with plenty of space, a quiet engine,
backup engine, and compressor on board. Whatch
out for the mind numbing unmuffled engines on
some of the other boats being used! |

|
Q. |
Do I need to prebook or can
I just turn up at the shop on the day? |
A. |
No, you do not need to. But
there are adventages to prebooking. Accomodation
is guaranted, and will give our pre booked customers
preference when planning the dive program. If
you are not pre-booked, and there are no other
guests that day, we will charge more for a day's
diving. The packages are designed to make it easy
for you! |
|
|
Q. |
Do you give a discount if we
bring our own equipment? |
A. |
Yes, I f you have all your own
equipment we will reduce the price on each days
diving by $5, Not applicable to packages. |
|
|

divers ? |
A. |
We often take out non divers
who enjoys the trips. Snorkelling is available
at most dive sites. We charge non divers approx
rp,200,000 for the day. |
|
|
Q. |
What else is there to do in
Labuan Bajo. |
A. |
Not a real lot at this stage.
Diving and trips to see the dragons are the main
activities. There is one nice bar –and restaurant
called paradise who often have a band on a Friday
night. There are a couple of basic bungalow style
island resorts that are nice to visit for a couple
of days! Otherwise most travellers passing through
embark on the the overland trips through Flores
after a few days in LBJ. A 3 day tour through
the highlands, visiting Bajawa, and Kilimutu is
always worthwhile. |
|
|
Q. |
Do I need to take Malaria Medication. |
A. |
Consult your doctor on this.
There is Malaria in Labuan Bajo. I prefer to recommend
people to cover up, use repellant, and wear light
coloured clothing. The chances of getting Malaria
from a few days in Labuan Bajo is low. |
|
|
Q. |
Banking and Internet. |
A. |
Banking services are limited.
There are no ATM's in Labuan Bajo, and the exchange
rate for foreign currency is very poor. The local
BNI Bank will give you cash on your credit card,
but their hours are limited. We recommend you
bring enough local currency for your trip and
expenses in the eastern islands. There is an ATM
at Ruteng, four hours from Labuan Bajo.
Internet is also very limted. We struggle with
access, so whilst some people may be able to help
you get online, it is a long distance call, expensive
and it would be better if you can plan to do without.
Get a local telphone card to use with your phone. |
|
|
Q. |

Telephone shops. |

|

shorts, hat, sunscreen, insect repellant, and
any personal needs. For the Dive Boat, Light
loose clothing, swimmers, sun protection, and
smiles.… We provide towels, drinks and

time to Visit Komodo. |
A. |
The weather in komodo is very
good for most of the year. I would suggest you
