The northeast tip of Gililawa Laut is always a great site to dive if you are into fish but not corals. Other small invertebrates are there of course, but the fish usually steal the show. On the corner of the reef sits rests a very large rock, behind which a drop off covered with boulders with many holes in between is found. Excellent grouper country - and if you are there at the right time, especially in October and November, you can see many groupers aggregate to spawn; then there are many golden trevallies, snappers and sometimes huge napoleon wrasses. The best time to dive this site is in slight current before or after slack-tide.
